Art or Craftsmanship?

Our figures are “just” carvings by an amateur without formal training, and thus perhaps only to be classified as crafts, because if it were “real art,” then the creator would be an artist.

But… who determines what is “art” and what is not? Some authors have filled entire books with this question, and the discussion is ongoing, probably because artists and their agents hope for better prices for their works and want to distinguish themselves from self-taught amateurs.

We don’t care about the debate, because we’re not concerned with a specific professional title, but only with the work itself, and it must – just like art – simply be pleasing and bring joy to the viewer. That´s it!
