Dead Wood For Cigars

We carve cigars from dead wood, i.e. branches that are left lying in the forest when trees are felled. They are often used as nesting sites by beetles, whose larvae eat their way through the bark to the wood. The larvae’s feeding marks give most of our pipes their special visual characteristics.
